Mangoes contain natural sugars and pigments called carotenoids, which give them their bright color. These substances can cling to fabric fibers, making stains tough to remove if not treated quickly. That’s why it’s essential to act fast and use the right cleaning methods.

Checkout the step by step process of removing mango stains from clothes. Below are steps mentioned:
Step 1: Pre Treat Stains
Take a dull knife or spoon and try to gently scrape off the excess mango from your cloth while ensuring not to spread the stain further while doing it. In case of mango juice, take a kitchen towel to soak up the excess liquid. Please try to avoid paper towels as they can immerse into the fabric which can deteriorate the fabric quality. Just blot it, don’t try to scrub (scrubbing can lead to even further immersing into the fabric).
Step 2: Prepare A Soaking Solution
It is important to pre-soak your mango stained clothes before putting them into the washing machine directly. For pre soak, fill a tub or bucket with slightly warm water and add half a scoop of detergent, then mix the solution by hand until the detergent is completely dissolved.
Step 3: Soak your Clothes
Add your mango stained garments to the prepared solution and soak them for an hour. Make your clothes fully immersed in the solution.
Step 4: Prepare to wash
Gently wring out the excess water before adding it to your wash with similar items.
Step 5: Dose
Add detergent based on the instructions mentioned on the care label. You can also check out our guide on how to dose detergent correctly.
Step 6: Wash it properly
Load your garment into the washing machine with other, similar items and wash on your usual cycle, at the highest temperature shown on the care label.
Step 7: Dry It Naturally
When the wash cycle is over, simply remove your clothes and hang them out to dry.
Stubborn stains: Make a paste with baking soda and water and apply it to the stain after the vinegar treatment. Let it sit for 15 minutes before rinsing and washing.
Delicate fabrics: For silk, wool, or other delicate fabrics, it’s best to seek professional cleaning help to avoid damage.
Avoid heat: Always air-dry stained clothes until you are sure the stain is completely gone.

They can, especially with quick action. For white clothes, you can use a mild bleach solution if the care label allows it. Always test on a small hidden area first.
Yes! Lemon juice acts as a natural bleaching agent. Apply lemon juice to the stain, let it sit in the sun for a few minutes, then rinse and launder as usual.
